Geophysical methods
Different earth exploration methods and their applications in geophysics
Source: BGR
The following subsections describe the respective basic ideas of the methods used in geophysics for the exploration of the earth's surface and its near to far subsurface structures:
Seismics, seismology, gravimetry, magnetometry, electromagnetics, radar, radiometry and heat flux measurements.
The special practical applications and a more detailed presentation of the applied methods are listed under the points airborne geophysics, ground geophysics, bore hole geophysics, subsurface geophysics and marine geophysics.
