Earthquake Catalogue of Central and Southeastern Europe

Earthquake Catalogue of Central and Southeastern EuropeEarthquake Catalogue of Central and Southeastern Europe Source: BGR

On behalf of the EU and in close cooperation between BGR and the Institute of Physics of the Earth, Moscow, an earthquake catalogue was compiled for Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, former Yugoslavia, Albania, Romania, Bulgaria, and the European part of Turkey. For this purpose, the national and regional catalogues available in these countries were re-vised and new parameters added, using a uniform format. New in this catalogue is that all previously published epicenter and parameters of the earthquakes are listed, so that the user may judge the reliability of the parameter values suggested by us.

The catalogue covers the period from 342 BC to AD 1990.

The Earthquake Catalogue with explanations Download (zip, 142 KB) as well as the whole report Download (zip, 5 MB) with figures and the listed catalogue are available as ZIP-files. If you download the catalogue, please send us your name and address by email, it's interesting for us to know who works with the catalogue.
