Festive event at the World Soil Day 2020

Loess soil – Soil of the Year 2021

For 15 years now, on the International Soil Day (5 December) the ‘Soil of the Year’ for the following year has been presented. This choice, which is made by the Soil of the Year Kuratorium, is intended to raise the public awareness of soil.

The Soil of the Year 2021 was presented one day earlier, on Friday 4 December 2020, at a festive event. This year, the event took place online. The event was organised by BGR and broadcast live on the internet.
